A gaiter designed by competitors of the 4 Deserts. This gaiter is the best on the market for desert racing with a reinforced toe and side to prevent tears. The gaiter comes with a velcro strip to secure the bottom of the gaiters to your shoe. Additional hook and strap system under the sole of the shoe enhances the adherence of your gaiters.
Available in two sizes. Color: Yellow / Blue. Weight: 45 grams.
*Please note that we recommend ordering gaiters well in advance of your race and having a shoe repair store (cobbler) stitch the velcro onto your shoes. This will ensure their durability throughout the event. See instructions on product images above.

Flashy and Functional Review by Eric LaHaie
How do you Rate this Product I wore these in Taklamakan Ultramarathon recently and loved them. Not only do they look flashy and cool (which all runners like, right?), but they worked great in keeping the sand out. Here is a photo of them in use: http://www.4deserts.com/100/taklamakan/
One thing to note: when the elastic strap is pulled under the shoe, it tightens the cord that goes around the gaiter and can make the toe of the gaiter peel off the velcro more easily. Therefore, I recommend using the strap only in emergencies, like if the velcro starts to come off the inside sole of the shoe.
Also, getting the velcro sewed on by a cobbler is a must. I have used glue a few times with other gaiters, but it just doesn't hold up under the extreme heat of the desert. Sewing the velcro on is the way to go. (Posted on 19/10/2010)
