A multisport, swim-proof GPS watch, ideal for triathletes and dedicated athletes. Forerunner 310XT has a 20-hour battery life and is waterproof (IPX7), making it an indispensable training tool. With a high-sensitivity GPS receiver and HotFix satellite prediction, Forerunner 310XT locates your position simply, quickly and precisely and maintains its GPS location even in heavy cover and near tall buildings and trees.
- Waterproof to 50m (165 ft.), Forerunner 310XT is an ideal training tool for triathletes and swimmers who want speed and distance data in open water or outdoor pools
- Forerunner 310XT features a new advanced calorie-consumption formula that calculates calories burned based on micro changes in the user's heart rate during aerobic activity
- GPS satellites accurately calculate speed, distance and pace information; GPS receiver provides rapid first fix and is sensitive enough to acquire signals under cloud cover. Navigation capabilities let you mark locations, find locations or navigate back to the starting point
- Wireless chest-strap heart rate monitor helps you train in your target zone to optimize performance
- ANT+ wireless technology allows the Forerunner 310XT to communicate with other ANT+ enabled devices, such as PowerTap, SRM and Quarq power meters (not included). It also lets you automatically transfer data between your computer and Forerunner without even taking the watch off; compatible with Mac and PC computers
- Use the Garmin Connect community website to track your time, speed, distance and calories burned; store and share routes with other Forerunner users on the website. It also allows users to categorize and design workouts based on activity—prior workouts can be saved by day and week designations
- Wireless data transfer can be used to send courses, goals and workouts from your computer to the Forerunner 310 XT before heading out for a jog. You can also share workout information and compete against other users' recorded courses by wirelessly transferring data to other Forerunner 310XT units nearby
- 20 hr. battery life provides accurate pace, speed and distance data for ultra endurance athletes
- Optional foot pod (sold separately) transmits speed/distance data without the use of satellites, so the Forerunner 310XT can also be used indoors
- Forerunner 310XT tracks your cycling workouts when paired with a GSC 10 Speed and Cadence Sensor, sold separately
- Includes: 310XT wrist unit, HRM chest strap, USB ANT stick, AC adapter, charging clip, owner's manual and quick reference guide

Cream of the Crop Review by Eric LaHaie
How do you Rate this Product Garmin makes the best GPS watches, and this is the best of the Garmin watches. I had heard this, but finally got one of these and now I agree. This watch is comfortable, fully functioned, and has a 20hr battery life (twice as much as other watches). For adventure races and endurance runners this watch is the one you want. Best watch you can take on your run Review by Denvy Lo
How do you Rate this Product I first got the Garmin 405 and while the touch-sensitive bezel is cool, it soon became a problem when it rains or when you touch it with sweaty fingers. The Garmin 310XT solved all that. Buttons are solid and easy to press (especially when running!), the interface is easy to use once you get the hang of it, and the best part is that it is waterproof.
This watch also has the Virtual Partner feature, which is invaluable when you need to keep a certain pace for a long distance. GPS catches on very fast and it gives accurate readings on elevation gain/loss.
I am giving this 4 starts because as much as I love this watch it just looks like a GPS watch, and not a watch-watch. It is chunky and rather cumbersome. In other words, this is a perfect watch for the geeky runner! (Posted on 22/06/2011) -
Awesome watch -- can be used as distance & pace monitor for RTP events from start to finish (with foot pod!) Review by Peter
How do you Rate this Product I used the 310xt for RTP Australia and had to use it sparingly to avoid running out of charge. The battery life of the watch is only 20 hours per charge when the unit is in GPS mode, shorter than most people will be out running in an RTP event! I have since learned that MUCH longer battery life is attainable with the GPS switched OFF, using the optional foot pod accessory to monitor distance and pace.
I recently used this strategy in a 27 hour continuous trail race and barely used one third of the battery life! It is extremely helpful knowing how far you still have to travel until the next checkpoint, particularly in managing your water and fuel supplies! The only downside to using the foot pod is not having a map of your run to upload to the computer. The foot pod is far smaller than the equivalent units from other leading manufacturers. For shorter events the GPS is invaluable in mapping your run.
The foot pod can be used in conjunction with a heart rate monitor with similarly long battery life (remember to switch the GPS off if you wish to enjoy >20hrs battery life!). I have used my 310xt daily for more than a year and I recommend it without hesitation!!! (Posted on 06/02/2011) -
The best multisport computer available Review by Justin
How do you Rate this Product I have been using the 310xt for over 1 year now, and it's everything I need (and more) for multisport. There is a learning curve in getting used to the multitude of customizable screens though. Garmin issues software updates every few months which further improves its function.
The battery life is great, the wireless transfer is reliable, the GPS locks quickly, and it's waterproof.
This is a great training tool when married with training programs such as TrainingPeaks or Sporttracks. Garmin Connect is ok to share workouts and GPS tracks. (Posted on 10/12/2010)
